Beginning Sewing

Learn the basics of sewing. We will discuss supplies, thread, needles, fabric, and patterns. You'll learn how to use a pattern, how to use your sewing machine, how to choose fabric, and how to put in a zipper. Your project will be a pillow for the home with decorative piping or a ruffle (pattern will be provided). We'll touch on the joys of a serger and what it does to finish edges. Sewing machines will be provided, but if you have one, bring your own machine (must be in good operating condition) with user manual. Check the ACP homepage for the supply list.
