Chinese for Fun, Travel, and Business

Do you have an interest in Chinese language and culture? Are you planning to travel to China, Taiwan, or work with a Chinese business partner? Gloria graduated with a history degree from a prestigious university in Beijing in late 1980s, and worked in various language and culture related areas through her stay in China, UK, Singapore, and longest, the US. She taught Mandarin Chinese for different age groups, including community weekend classes and ISU undergrad degree classes. For our 4-week mini course, she would start with a brief introduction of the language, its written form and phonetic system, followed by a survey on what the majority of registered students want to learn about, try to make the following learning closely relatable and engaging. Join us on a journey that will unveil the Chinese language and culture in a holistic perspective in art, history, cuisine, business etiquette, and cross-cultural social implications. By the end of the class, you will be able to read and write Chinese at a basic level, as well as lead a conversation about work, preferences, hobbies, and family. Weekly lessons will be taught in a relaxing and fun way.
