What is the Pharmacy Technician course?
A 12 week curriculum of classroom instruction for individuals interested in a career as a Pharmacy Technician. This course will give you a solid foundation in the skills necessary for employment as a pharmacy technician and will prepare you for the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) exam.
The 12 week Pharmacy Technician coursework includes:
- Origin and history of pharmacy
- Calculating doses
- Drug regulation and controls
- Labeling prescriptions
- Routes and formulations
- Preparing IVs
- Transcribing of Physician's orders
- Drug distribution systems
- Correct medication packaging
- Top 200 drug names Brand/Generic

Information sessions held at Hickory Hall, ICC Peoria Campus located at 5407 N. University, Peoria. No pre-registration is required.
