The Power of Food for Breast Cancer Prevention and Survival    NEW!

Discover how the power of food can play a vital role in the prevention and survival of breast cancer. This evidence-based class explores the link between diet and cancer, highlighting how a low-fat, plant-based way of eating can reduce risk and support long-term wellness. We will view a short educational video from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, engage in meaningful discussion, and enjoy a cooking demonstration featuring simple, delicious, cancer-fighting recipes. This course is ideal for survivors, those with a family history of breast cancer, healthcare professionals, or anyone interested in optimizing their health through nutrition.

By the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Explain the relationship between dietary fat—especially from animal sources—and breast cancer risk, including insights from international population studies and recent research.
  • Identify specific plant-based foods and nutrients that have been shown to help reduce breast cancer risk and support survival, such as fiber-rich legumes, cruciferous vegetables, and antioxidant-packed fruits.
  • Demonstrate practical skills in preparing low-fat, plant-based meals through live recipe demonstrations that include Homestyle Squash and Pinto Beans, Broccoli with Sesame Salt, and a Mixed Berry Smoothie.
