Culinary Camp Grades 9-12   NEW!

If your dream is to work in a professional kitchen, or you just love the idea of developing your cooking talent, than join Chef Charles this summer for a unique culinary experience. This intense, inspiring camp for young chefs builds the essential skills needed to conquer the kitchen.

In five weekday sessions you’ll learn from the same instructor who train our adult career students. Each day is a true hands-on experience, beginning with your first lesson when you learn how to make basic sauces such as Veloute and Béchamel. On Thursday, showcase your culinary skills as you prepare and serve lunch for yourself and two people of your choosing. Friday will be spent touring a highly regarded local restaurant. A special chef’s lunch will be prepared for you to enjoy.

Students learn basic knife skills, get a peek into the world of sauce making, dabble in dessert making and presentation, and put all skills together to create a fabulous lunch to serve to family and friends.

Grades: Entering 9-12
June 12-16, 2017
Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This camp will be held in the Dogwood Hall professional kitchens at ICC North Campus. The week long course is taught by professional Chef, Charles Robertson and includes all supplies; chef's knife, peeler and sharpening steel.

Students are then encouraged to master their culinary skills even further by registering for our ICC Culinary Camp Advanced that will take place the following week.
