Workshops

Exploring Engineering and Physics (Grades 8-9)

Dive into the world of engineering and physics through hands-on investigation and design. This interactive course introduces core concepts in mechanical design, Newtonian mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and quantum optics.

Design and model mechanical systems using 3D solid modeling and 3D printing technology. Explore Newton’s laws, conservation of momentum and energy, vibrations, and the speed of sound through real-world experiments. Build and test circuits while investigating Ohm’s law, magnetism, induction, motors, and generators. Examine the behavior of light using mirrors, lenses, diffraction, and basic spectroscopy to uncover the principles behind optics and quantum mechanics.

Each day combines theory with experimentation, giving students the opportunity to think like engineers and physicists, test ideas, and solve problems. This course is ideal for students who enjoy math, science, technology, and hands-on challenges.
