IL Cannabis Industry Education   

In this class, we will discuss the history of cannabis medicine, the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. What role healthcare professionals play. We will debunk the myths around cannabis, discuss dosing, the dispensary's role, and the patient’s responsibilities.

Objectives: 1) Describe the Illinois Medical Cannabis Program and Approved Diagnosis. 2) Discuss evidence for treating patient conditions with medical cannabis. 3) Discuss pharmacology of cannabis and it’s effects on the Endocannabinoid System. 4) Learn the role of the healthcare provider, the dispensary, and the patient.

In this 5-session course, you will learn the following in a team centered, in person, interactive cohort:
•    Cannabis plant basics and products available
•    History, myths, and stigmas of cannabis
•    Laws, regulations, and operations pertaining to a cannabis dispensary
•    Cannabis supply chain and inventory management
•    Dispensary customer service and pathways into the cannabis industry

Registration fee will be waived if learners attend all 5 nights of the course.

This workshop takes a brief overview of the players and stakeholders within Illinois’ cannabis industry and the supply chain, which also touches on the industry from a federal aspect.

This workshop is for the “non-expert” interested in at-home growing. It will take you through the basics of growing a photoperiod plant indoors, supplies you may need to get started tomorrow, and cover legal considerations.

If you have ever wondered what a day in the life of a budtender looks like, this workshop is for you. From open to close, dispensaries have many responsibilities that you may not have realized.
