Essential employability skills training empowers you to communicate effectively, solve problems, adapt to change, and collaborate with diverse teams. 

The Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and Corporate and Community Education are joining forces to offer Essential Employability Skills Training for Peoria Area businesses! This seven week series will provide you with training on ten employability skills identified as essential by Peoria Area CEO's.

GPEAK was developed in 2020 in partnership with Peoria's CEO Council, the Regional Workforce Development Alliance, the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, Northern Illinois University, and the Illinois Community College Board.

GPEAK has developed a series of badges that identify successful completion of a skill and/or of the GPEAK programming. Badges can be displayed on your professional portfolio, LinkedIn, and your resume.

This series includes seven 2-hour trainings on Teamwork, Conflict Resolution, and Communication, Cultural Competency and Adaptability & Flexibility, Planning & Organizing & Initiative & Self-Drive, Reliability & Accountability, Critical Thinking, and Decision Making and Problem Solving. 

Continental breakfast, coffee, and parking is included.

After July 31st: $225/person

Illinois Central College and the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce have partnered to launch a new Emerging Leaders Training Series designed for aspiring and new leaders ready to grow their confidence and leadership skills. Through practical tools, guided discussions, and real-world insights, participants will strengthen communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and professional effectiveness. Local employers can strengthen their teams by investing in emerging leaders who are prepared to immediately apply these skills in the workplace and contribute at a higher level within their organizations.

All sessions are Wednesday mornings from 7-9 AM, rotating between Distillery Labs and Illinois Central College-Peoria Campus, and includes parking, continental breakfast, and training by local leadership experts on leadership competencies vital to your growth as a leader.
